Holiday season shoutouts

A big "thank you" to Lacy Border for decorating the Gazebo. It's got that holiday spirit! And thanks go to Paul Shannon and Bob Baker and their crews for decorating the courthouse, putting up the Christmas Tree and lighting the pecan trees. We receive nothing but compliments.

And also a big "thank you" to Wharton Chamber Christmas Holiday Parade chair Jeff Rainer and assistant chair Logan Giese, MCs Debbie Dimmick and Debbie Cenko, and parade marshal Sherrell Speer.

Putting on a parade is no easy task, and we could not do it without all the assistance from the law enforcement community lead by Lt. Ben Guanajuato of the Wharton Police Department.

Shop Small Contest

And a big "thank you" to Linda and Dana Arceo for their invaluable assistance is putting on the Shop Small Contest. Without them, it would not have happened! Also appreciated are all the participants.

Other matters

And just to let you know: my big toe is healing fine. I sliced it open while carving a bird for Thanksgiving. Sandy was able to clean up all the blood from the kitchen floor, so thanks Sandy! The butterfly bandages worked just fine. What a Thanksgiving!
